Join Windsor Optimist Youth Band on our Open Recruitment Day to learn about joining the Band!

Beginner musicians welcome, colour guard, no experience necessary. 

Be part of our community youth music program of fun, friendship, and travel with expert, award winning music education!  The band is under the Direction of Michael Seguin, as we celebrate our 56th year of the Optimist Club’s commitment to ‘Friend of Youth’ while the band continues its tradition of being Windsor Ambassadors. 

10am start

1pm BBQ lunch and social to follow, Alumni welcome! 

Band membership also provides High school Volunteer Hours!

The annual Gutsy Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada connects communities across Canada in our collective mission to find the cures and to improve lives of everyone affected by Crohn’s or colitis.

Celebrity Artist Kurt Lehner will be appearing for his first time at FanaticCon in Brockville, Ontario on May 15th, 2022 at the Brockville Convention Centre from 11am to 4pm. Lehner, born in Toronto, Ontario, has had a passion for comic book and fantasy art from a very early age. His career has included working for such companies as Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, Marvel, Dreamworks, Nelvana Studios, and many others. Kurt’s talent as a senior character and development designer can be seen on such familiar shows as Gargoyles, The Rescue Heroes, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, Space Jam, W.I.L.D. Cats, Cadillac’s and Dinosaurs, Beauty and the Beast – The Enchanted Christmas, Rupert, The Marvel Action Hour, Ned’s Newt, with a list of many more.

He was featured in a New York Times article for his work in the animation industry. Kurt also works with children and students as an instructor and speaker through worshops. FanaticCon Brockville is a fan convention offering the best in vintage toys, comics, retro grams, art costuming, entertainment and more.

Your favourite downtown attractions are joining forces for a truly spectacular Free Comic Book Day on May 7, 2022. This year, the Chimczuk Museum, Art Gallery of Windsor, Windsor Public Library Main Branch, Artcite Inc., and Rogues Gallery Comics will all be in on the action!

Comic enthusiasts and heroes big and small are welcome as Rogues Gallery celebrates Free Comic Book Day by teaming up with its neighbours, making this annual event another true community extravaganza. On Saturday, May 7, 2022, visitors can obtain free comics from Rogues and walk, fly or teleport to the Chimczuk Museum, Art Gallery of Windsor, Windsor Public Library Main Branch, and Artcite Inc. to pick up additional books. Collect them all while supplies last!

In addition to the free artistic literature and the opportunity to rub shoulders with the defenders of the universe, visitors can also enjoy free admission to the Chimczuk Museum and Art Gallery of Windsor (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) along with superhero sketches, balloon animals and magic shows from 12 to 4 p.m.
