Community Event - Sarnia - St. Joseph's Hospice Family Loss Support Group

An eight-week support group that is available for those grieving the death of a family member. Every Tuesday from September 28th to November 16th from 10:30am - 12:00pm at St. Joseph's Hospice Resource Centre. Led by trained volunteers and staff. Group enables participants to build relationships, learn about grief and share with other grievers. An assessment is required prior to attendance. Adult Learning and Training Center is offering "Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin'-By World" an incredible FREE 13-session program that encourages participants to build resources and create a plan for getting out of poverty and "Getting Ahead." Through activities and group discussions, we investigate:

Causes of poverty. Hidden rules we all need to know. Resources to improve life situations. Strategies for writing our own future story.

With "Getting Ahead," no one teaches. Instead, we learn from one another by sharing our experiences, participating in problem- solving discussions and exploring ways to strengthen our community by helping people to move out of poverty.

Consider taking this step-by-step journey toward your future story. Two start dates , two locations. Smiths Falls Tuesday September 21st, Perth Wednesday September 22nd. Transportation available, meal provided.

In partnership with Ontrac, The Perth Community Food Table, The Salvation Army, Lanark Transportation.
