The Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay is producing Backpacks of Love filled with donated essential items. We need the community of North Bay’s generosity to reach our goal of 200 backpacks! The New Apostolic Church at 46 Joseph St. will be accepting drop-offs from 1 to 3 p.m. on: Saturday, June 26, Saturday, July 10, Saturday, July 24.
New items needed include: backpacks – 30 to 45 L (sturdy, preferably camping style), silver emergency blankets, tarps, small flashlights with batteries, lip balm, deodorant, hairbrushes, bars of soap, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, socks – 3 pr. light, 3 heavy, reusable bags, drawstring bags, reusable water bottles, mini first aid kits, package of masks, rain ponchos, sun hats/ball caps, bug repellent (cream), sunscreen (cream), toothpaste, towelettes/wipes.

Sales will take place Sundays from July 11 – August 29 (except August 1) at Apple Self Storage on Kent Ave in Niagara Falls from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. When you arrive, let our volunteers know which category of books you wish to purchase (e.g., romance, history, mystery), and one of our volunteers will deliver a box full of “mystery books” to your trunk for you to enjoy. Categories available at each sale will be announced by 6 p.m. on the Thursday before each sale and will be available as long as quantities last. Visit the link in this listing to learn more.

It is that time of the year again when we approach the Annual Butterfly Release date, which this year happens on the 17th of July at Noon. This year Near North Palliative Care will host its 12th Annual Butterfly Release and it will be streamed online. The event will take place at the gardens of St. Joseph's Motherhouse. The Butterfly Release honours and memorializes our loved ones who have passed away. NNPCN is actively seeking donations to the cause of Palliative Care.

The city of Belleville Summer 'A' and Summer 'B' recreation registration begins June 21 for City of Belleville Taxpayers and June 24 for Non-City Taxpayers.
Summer 'A' session will run from July 5-30.
Summer 'B' session will run from August 3-September 3.
