ESWO is excited to host its first-ever Ribfest on June 11-13, 2021 in Chatham. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be drive-thru only, guests will pick up their food from vendors and enjoy in the safety of their own vehicles or home. The event will comply with all health and safety standards and recommendations as set out by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

Peterborough Historical Society virtual public talk on Hutchison House YouTube channel. A recognized specialist in Peterborough business history, Ken Brown will examine the successful career of Robert Romaine. Truly a businessman of many parts, Romaine was a successful manufacturer of bricks, editor and publisher of the Peterborough Review, inventor of innovative farm machinery and, famously, printer of the Romaine Map of Peterborough 1875, an invaluable archival source. Ken Brown's publications include The Canadian Canoe Company and the Early Peterborough Canoe Factories; the Peterborough Potteries; and The Invention of the Board Canoe.

Seeking working mothers to participate in a study:

Study Title: Borderline care and politics: The everyday experiences of working mothers in border communities during the COVID-19 pandemic

Are you a mother that has been working through the COVID-19 pandemic?

I am looking for working mothers that live in border communities to partake in this research study.

Your involvement in this study will include participating in a semi-structured interview that will take about 30-45 minutes. The interview will focus on your experiences related to working during the pandemic in a border community.

Participation Eligibility:

· Mother, guardian, or caregiver

· Has at least one child currently under your care

· Employed at the beginning of the pandemic

· Currently living in a border community of: Windsor, or Ottawa, Ontario.

· May cross a border for everyday activities (e.g. work, child care, etc.)
