Happening September 20th - Join us for our 45th Anniversary Celebration Open House from 1-3:30pm on the grounds of the museum (277 King Street) which will feature music, refreshments and a special contest. Admission is by donation, and registration for the in-person event is required. For the safety of everyone, masks are mandatory. Decorate your mask and come celebrate with us! The most creative mask will win a museum prize package!

You can also join the festivities online as we are hosting a virtual event on our Facebook page, the morning of September 20th (before the in-person event begins) which will feature performances, interviews, and the amazing history of the Museum. The Visual Artists of Welland is having a Silent Art Auction at The Black Sheep Lounge, 64 Niagara Street, Welland-- from Wednesday, Sept. 16 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27.  Many members of the VAW have donated a painting each for this event.  The max size of each painting is approximately 11’’ x 14’’.  All different media--acrylic, oil, watercolour, etching, etc.  And many different subjects.  ALL proceeds from the Silent Art Auction will go to Women’s Place/Serenity House in Welland.  All bids will start at $50.00 with increments of $5.00.  The max bid is $85.00!  That’s correct--you can own a piece of original art for a max price of $85.00!!!

West St. Andrew’s Presbyterian church (42 Pelham Rd. St. Catharines) will be having a yard sale on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 9am-noon. Due to COVID 19, you are asked to wear a mask and to follow the physical distancing rules.

LES 7 PALIERS DE LA PROCHE AIDANCE.
Constatant qu’il existait beaucoup de ressources techniques et que peu de ressources tenaient compte de la vie émotionnelle, affective et personnelle des aidants, Diane a mis à profit son expérience de proche aidante en 2017 ainsi que ses connaissances en développement personnel afin de créer « Les 7 piliers de la proche aidance ». Une approche qui permet aux aidants de reconnaître et d’apprendre à exprimer leurs besoins afin d’établir un plan d’action solide dans leur vie personnelle, dans le but de soutenir leur rôle d’aidant. Madame Noël encourage également l'écriture dans une démarche de conscientisation de ses besoins comme accompagnant.

Invite à prendre conscience que la vie d’aidant doit reposer sur un plan solide et le soutien des multiples partenaires.

Nul ne peut prétendre tirer seul les ficelles de cette nouvelle responsabilité.
