Southbound Central Avenue is restricted to one lane south of E.C. Row Expressway due to road work on Deziel Drive and Rhodes Drive. The southbound right-turn lane on Central Avenue is also temporarily closed until Friday, May 8.
The appeal concerning the proposed Windsor mega-hospital and the development of its surrounding area will be proceeding to a hearing before the Divisional Court this coming Wednesday, May 6 at 10 a.m.
This hearing will be open to the public via YouTube or by telephone.

The Citizens for an Accountable Mega-Hospital Planning Process (CAMPP) are asking the Court to allow five issues to be considered in detail at a future hearing:
- ensuring emergency services are properly located when the new hospital is built
- planning that properly considers climate change impacts
- the City’s obligation to consult with First Nations
- apparent unresolved conflicts in expert evidence
- the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which could not have been considered when the new hospital was being planned.
Joe Callahan will be doing a one-hour live concert on Tuesday May from 3:00-4:00pm to help to raise money for the Prince Edward County Foundation. Dominion Boulevard will be closed between E.C. Row Expressway and Northwood Street for sewer work, road construction and hydro pole relocation. Northwood Street will also be closed from Longfellow Avenue to McKay Avenue beginning Wednesday, May 6 for 7 weeks.
Southbound Ojibway Parkway will have lane restrictions between G.N. Booth Drive and E.C. Row Expressway for manhole repair work from 8am on Tuesday, May 5, until 5pm on Wednesday, May 6.

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) is pleased to announce that its Farmers Market will open on Saturday May 30 at 8am. Celebrating its fifth season on Pelissier Street and Maiden Lane, the Farmers Market is home to over 40 produce, food and artisanal vendors. The Market is a rain or shine event that runs in the heart of the city every Saturday through to October 31, from 8am-1pm.
In light of COVID-19, the Downtown Windsor Farmers Market is working closely with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and Farmers Market Ontario to ensure that social distancing measures and safety protocols are in place when the market opens.
Market Manager, Steve Green, who works in the healthcare sector, is especially cognizant of the need to implement full social distancing measures and a phased approach. Some of the measures will include:

“Farmers Markets are deemed an essential service,” said Steve Green, Market Manager. “Vendors will only be selling farm-to-table produce and products and, until further notice, there will be no entertainment, Kids Korner, Chef Demos and piazza. In addition, we will be advocating a “shop – don’t stop” policy.”
