Community Event - Brockville/Prescott - Free Labour Day Picnic - Hardy & Centennial Parks
Everyone is welcome to this completely free event, on Monday, 2nd Sept. 2019, in Brockville’s waterfront Hardy & Centennial Parks. The day will include a live local band (The G-Men), three bouncy castles/inflatables, a balloon twisting clown, children’s face painting, police cruiser, fire engine, a ‘live-on-location’ radio station, and a BBQ (where we plan to serve over 600 hot dogs and bottled water, at no cost to anyone in attendance). All of this is in celebration of the many contributions of labour, (unionized or not), to Ontario and to our Canadian society, as a whole. The achievements and goals of organized labour will also be shared with the public at various tents and tables. This event is sponsored, organized, and run by the efforts of the members of your local labour council, in affiliation with the Canadian Labour Congress.
