Community Event - Niagara - Ice Fishing Derby at Binbrook Conservation Feb 2nd

The family fun tradition continues at Binbrook Conservation Area, so join us for our annual ice fishing derby!

Prizes and trophies are up for grabs for both adult and youth categories. Cash Prizes: $250 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd, alongside fantastic fishing gear for a great total value.

Tickets are $17.70+HST for adults and FREE for children under 12 when purchased online. Tickets at the door are $17.70+HST for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Please note tickets do not include meal. Lunch will be available for purchase on-site, with all proceeds going to the Glanbrook Conservation Committee.

GCC is a group of volunteers working to improve the habitat for wildlife in what was previously Glanbrook Township, but is now the new City of Hamilton. The group includes, naturalists, environmentalists, bird watchers, hikers, canoeists, as well as fishermen and hunters.

This event is dependent on weather conditions.Ice measurements must be a minimum of 6 inches. Should ice not be thick enough, event will be cancelled (during which time, refunds will be issued within 5-7 business days after the event).

Support Group meeting for people living with Fibromyalgia (FM) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), either diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis, as well as for their family and friends.

A Peer Support Group can reduce the sense of isolation you may feel by providing an opportunity to meet others who understand what it is like to live with FM and CFS.

We will meet in Room 301

Join us for and evening of entertainment as 3 local photographers share their stories. Evelyn Buchner with her "Country Ramblings", Christine Roenspiess "Socorro Islands- Diving into the Blue", and Bob McCarthy "History of North West Lambton". Admission is by donation with the benefits going to YMCA Breakfast and After-school Resource House Program.  Receipts available for cheque donations. "Feel the Spirit!" commemorates Black History Month in music and spoken dialogue, featuring the history of Negro Spirituals as they relate to the Underground Railroad. The program will be presented by St. Andrew's United Church Chancel Choir, guest soloists, and Shannon and Bryan Prince from Buxton National Historic Site and Museum. Doors open at  6:30 pm. Free will offering (suggested $10/adult).

PANORAMA - a large scale handbell musical landscape by the Bronze Foundation Handbell Ensemble from Toronto is holding a concert at Princess Street United Church, 484 Albert St. on Sat.
