Farmland preservationist , Mary Delaney , Chair of Pickering 'Land Over Landings' group will tell the exciting story of the lengthy battle to save prime farmlands in Pickering from the planned Pickering Airport   , at the Thursday  March 22nd Annual General Meeting of Niagara-based Preservation of Agricultural Lands Society . Please join us for our Vendor Show this coming Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.  This event is being put on by Lincoln Chapter No. 142, Order of The Easter Star as a fundraiser to help with our work to support various charities.  One of our projects this year is The Wounded Warrior fund.  Our vendor show is taking place at First Grantham United Church, 415 Linwell Rd, St. Catharines, ON L2M 2P3.  We have local vendors, a book table, white elephant/craft/plant table.  We will be serving muffins, tea and coffee for $3.00.  We appreciate your support.

The Belleville Public Library will be hosting a Beyond the Basics genealogy series of four workshops on Thursdays in April from 10-11:30 am:

April 5 - newspapers for genealogy research

April 12 - religious records

April 19 - Hastings County Archives will give an overview of what the Archives can offer genealogists and give a tour of the Archives afterwards

April 26 - guest speaker Carol St. Clair, a handwriting expert, will help you to figure out your ancestors’ personality by analyzing their old handwriting.
