For the past 26 years, Marie Dressler Foundation, a not-for-profit registered charity has invested in continuing education of graduating high school students in memory of Cobourg-born, Academy Award winner Marie Dressler.
Marie Dressler Foundation solicits applications from graduating students in Northumberland County who intend to pursue post-secondary education in the performing arts sector. An Awards Committee of the Foundation selects the successful applicants who are invited to attend this presentation along with their families and friends.
In 2017, the amount of the individual student bursary award was $1,500. Five awards were given in July 2017.
