Family Sunday Activity: Candle Making – Engage, discover, and create every Sunday afternoon from 1:00–3:00PM. Learn an original candle making technique by making your own wax dipped candles. Free. $5 Suggested Material Donation per family. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Writing is the Window to the Heart with Kara Ghobhainn Smith – Join Kara in the studio to develop the mindset that will stimulate the writing skills that truly reveal the window to your heart. Participants are encouraged to pen a letter to deployed troops or a veteran before they leave. Kara Ghobhainn Smith is the author of The Artists of Crow County (Black Moss Press, 2017), coauthor of Next to the Ice (Mosaic Press, 2016), Teaching, Learning, Assessing (Mosaic Press, 2007), and the author of the blogspot poetry series, The Travelling Professor. Ghobhainn Smith was Chatham-Kent’s 2015-2016 Writer-in-Residence, and Editor of the Journal of Teaching and Learning (JTL), as well as the books’ editor for the Canadian Journal of Education (CTL) and the National Reading Program of Canada.
