Community Event - Burlington/Oakville - Enjoy a free afternoon to explore original art

This year’s Art In My Garden exhibit will offer a unique opportunity to explore a vibrant and diverse collection of original art by almost 70 local artists.  Set amidst the tree-lined lawns of Old Oakville - just steps south of the bustling downtown shops - the exhibit promises an inspiring open-air art experience. With the addition of 25 new artists this year, the showcase will feature an expanded range of artistic expression, including paintings, textiles, mosaics, and sculptures and letterpress fun for all ages.

Now in its 5th year, artist and founder Rachel Williams is introducing a new community feature to include more people in the exhibit: Hanging in Harmony.  Volunteer artists of all ages and abilities paint a 10” x 10” canvas interpreting the theme "What Is The Art In Your Garden”.  The resulting installation, a striking patchwork of personal perspectives, will be on display on Navy Street during the event. As Rachel explains, “Art has the power to pull us together, and this new installation is a visual expression of our perspectives - woven with belonging, and rooted in community”.

In 2024, more than 1,500 visitors enjoyed an afternoon of art, nature, and connection - and we’re anticipating an even greater turnout this year.

Art In My Garden is made possible through the generous support of our lead sponsors Chervin Kitchen & Bath, Niblock Avis Real Estate, Pine Glen Homes and Proscape Land Design, the Oakville Arts Council - as well as our Community and Support Partners.

For more information and a map of the participating homes, visit artinmygarden.ca.  Printed maps will also be available and distributed on the day of the event.
