Climate Action Day
Join BurlingtonGreen at the BG Eco-Hub by the beach to learn about how you can take action on climate change.
Date: Sunday, October 1, 2023
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: BG Eco-Hub, 1094 Lakeshore Rd.
Electric vehicle ambassadors will be in attendance to share information and will have a variety of electric vehicles available for free test drives.
City staff will be there to share information about the Better Homes Burlington pilot program which helps homeowners understand the options and incentives available for home energy upgrades.
Tickets will be sold for your chance to win either a pedal-powered bike or an e-bike. Proceeds from the raffle will support BurlingtonGreen.
There will also be eco-trivia spin to win, pollinator seed ball making, a beach litter clean-up and more.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Canada invites you to participate in the Run for Burlington supporting Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation on October 1, 2023 at Spencer Smith Park.
There is a 3 km and 5 km run, as well as a 1 km family run.

Santa Claus Parade draw for non-profits
Burlington not-for-profit organizations are invited to enter a draw to win one of three $1,500 grants to be used towards a Burlington 150 themed float in this year’s Santa Claus Parade.
The deadline to enter is Oct. 15, 2023. The draw will take place on Oct. 20 and the winners will be notified that day. The three winners will be provided with a flatbed trailer courtesy of JKM Towing, as well as decoration space on Dec. 2 courtesy of Attridge Transportation.
This year's parade will take place on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and the city is looking for volunteers to assist with various duties, including banner carrier, parade route marshal and dismantle zone assistant. Learn more about home energy retrofits
The City of Burlington’s Better Homes Burlington team and Burlington Public Library are hosting a series of free, one-hour information sessions where residents can learn about home energy retrofits. The introductory sessions will walk you through the process of getting a home energy assessment, doing retrofits like air-sealing and installing an air-source heat pump, and how to use financial incentive programs.
The sessions are being held in-person on Oct. 3 and virtually the evenings of Oct. 12, 17 and 23.

Community Event - Burlington/Oakville - National Seniors' Day Open House
You're invited to celebrate National Seniors' Day.
Date: Monday, October 2, 2023
Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: Burlington Seniors' Centre, 2285 New St.
Throughout the day, city staff will showcase a wide array of arts, leisure activities, sports, fitness, music, and wellness programs. The Burlington Fire Department, members of the Burlington Seniors' Advisory Committee, and staff from Burlington Transit will be in attendance as well.
Complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies will be available all day at the Seniors’ Centre Bistro.
Adults 55-plus can also enjoy free drop-in programs at various community centres, including swimming, skating, sports, fitness and wellness programs. Trinity United Church has been holding a Book Club for over 25 years. We are an informal group that enjoys reading and discussing books – primarily fiction. We meet on the last Monday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Church Parlour. At the September meeting we plan the reading list for the year. Winter months we meet by Zoom.
