Councillor Mark King and Mayor Peter Chirico are at odds over the "Mayor’s Committee," an assembly of nine regional leaders focused on local issues. King alleges the group has been meeting privately to orchestrate a takeover of Castle Arms. However, Mayor Chirico has dismissed these claims as false, asserting that while the city seeks municipal representation on the Castle Arms board, there are no plans to sell the assets. Whether the facility’s governance will ultimately return to municipal hands remains to be seen.
