Roots of Empathy
As a key point agency for Roots of Empathy, the ECCDC is the local coordinator of the Roots of Empathy program, and is the key contact working directly with the Roots of Empathy Provincial Staff, Mentors, Instructors and with DSBN and NCDSB School Board Representatives. In this key role ECCDC coordinate’s the annual program start-up and implementation, recruits new Instructors and supports them throughout the training process, oversees regular program maintenance, and coordinates year end wrap up activities inclusive of the annual Baby Celebration. ECCDC is grateful to our partners at both the District School Board of Niagara and Niagara Catholic District School Board in bringing Roots of Empathy to classrooms across the Niagara Region for the past 25 years!

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week will take place from April 27th until May 3rd across Canada. In Niagara Falls, 100% of proceeds from Smile Cookies (and plushies) sold will be donated to GROW Community Food Literacy Centre & Birchway Niagara.

Niagara Falls Elvis Festival!
The ground was All Shook Up this weekend at The Greg Frewin Theatrical Centre for the return of the Niagara Falls Elvis Festival! Along with some incredible tribute artists, a Tribute Artist Contest was held with entries from all over the world. Bob Romeo put on his blue suede shoes and had the opportunity to talk with the Festival's Producer and a couple of the Tribute contestants.

Volunteer Host/Reporter Bob Romeo is no stranger to the community channel. He started volunteering in 1992 at Maclean Hunter in St. Catharines as co-creator of What in the World?! After years in radio and stand-up comedy he returned to Cogeco in the early 2000's as a reporter for The Source. For the last 7 years he has produced and hosted The Romeo Report on yourTV Niagara.
