Canada Summer Games Athletes Donate To Niagara Children’s Centre
Did you know that The Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games have selected Niagara Children’s Centre as their official charity partner because of the organizations far-reaching impact in the Region? Each of the Games 5,000 athletes from Canada’s 13 provinces and territories donated a collection of board books, bubbles, play-doh and crafting supplies, and on Friday stopped by the Centre to deliver the items.
"13 For 13 Cultural Festival" - Pride Day in Niagara Place, Canada Games Park
Aside from the competition, another big part of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games is the "13 for 13 Cultural Festival". Every day, a different Niagara municipality collaborates with one of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories to showcase the unique cultural heritage, entertainment, art, and culinary experiences of each! On Wednesday, the Games broke format and celebrated "Pride Day", in Niagara Place at Canada Games Park.
"13 For 13 Cultural Festival" - Wainfleet and Nunavut
Aside from the competition, another big part of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games is the "13 for 13 Cultural Festival". Every day, a different Niagara municipality collaborates with one of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories to showcase the unique cultural heritage, entertainment, art, and culinary experiences of each! On Tuesday, Wainfleet paired with Nunavut at Wainfleet Arena Park.
"13 For 13 Cultural Festival" - Port Colborne and New Brunswick
Aside from the competition, another big part of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games is the "13 for 13 Cultural Festival". Every day, a different Niagara municipality collaborates with one of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories to showcase the unique cultural heritage, entertainment, art, and culinary experiences of each! On Monday, Port Colborne paired with New Brunswick, at H.H. Knoll Park and Anthony Luongo was there to file this report.

The Source spent Wednesday afternoon at the Welland International Flatwater Centre where medals were handed out to Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games athletes competing in Canoe & Kayak.

The Source visited the Rosberg Room at the Niagara Falls Public Library to view an Art Exhibition paying tribute to the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. pARTicipation 2022 is a collaboration between Brock University, the DSBN and Niagara Catholic District School Board as well as the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre. Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games - Accessibility
Karen Natho is the Chair of Accessibility for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. She spoke with The Source about the importance of accessibility and how she hopes everyone who attends the Summer Games has a safe and enjoyable time. On Thursday, St. Catharines paired with the Yukon, downtown in front of the Performing Arts Centre.
