The Friends of the Peterborough Library will host a Children's Book Sale on June 21st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. in the Story Corner of the Children's section on the lower level of the Peterborough Library. This Sale will be held in conjunction with the Library's launch of their children's Summer Reading Program.  Families can purchase a wide variety of children's books from infant picture books to those for young adults at a fraction of publishers' prices. It’s a great opportunity to engage with our community. This all-ages and all-abilities walk is called Belongathon and is organized by Karis Disability Services (formerly Christian Horizons). The Belongathon is all about recognizing that all people are valued and have gifts our communities need.

Get ready for a night of fun, food, and community spirit at Bright Futures: Celebrate Canada — the Rotary Club of Peterborough’s signature fundraising event happening Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the McDonnel Street Activity Centre. This lively evening features a Chili Cook-Off Competition where you get to taste and vote for your favourite, live music by Tony Grady and The Patio Stones, an exciting raffle draw with a $4,000 cash prize, amazing getaway packages, and a silent auction packed with local goods and experiences.

All proceeds go toward Rotary projects making a real difference — from school breakfast programs and youth support services in our local community to empowering women in Pokhara, Nepal through skills training and education. Tickets are just $50 per person. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20, with the draw at 9:00 p.m. Come celebrate Canadian spirit and global impact — and help us build brighter futures, one community at a time.

Cephas Christian Reformed Church is proud to present a free benefit concert for LifeWater Canada. Come out for an evening of lively musical entertainment and enjoy 4-part harmony Gospel songs, R & B and Soul tributes provided by Bridget Foley and the Gospel Girls. A free will offering will be taken to support clean water projects throughout Haiti, Nigeria, Liberia and Kenya. Receipts will be given for donations of $20 or more. Concert starts at 7 pm on Saturday, June 7 at Cephas Christian Reformed Church located at 220 Goodfellow Rd. Doors open at 6:30pm.

In a world where addiction and mental health challenges touch so many lives, coming together as a community is more important than ever. Gamiing Nature Centre is proud to host our annual Summer Solstice Festival, a day dedicated to recovery, mental health awareness, and the power of connection.

This vibrant festival offers a supportive space for individuals and families affected by addiction and mental health issues. It's a chance to celebrate healing, foster unity, and ignite hope for a brighter future.

We're also inviting organizations, groups, and individuals dedicated to addiction services, recovery support, and mental health care to showcase their valuable resources at the festival. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community and offer vital support.
