Halton's New Housing Strategy
While the housing crisis may not be as visible in Halton because tent encampments are not as large or widespread as some neighbouring municipalities, it's still a part of this region's reality. Hundreds do not have their own place to call home and thousands are on waiting lists for affordable housing. Shelter providers are working hard to aid those who need it, but those resources are being stressed by the demand. In response, the region has a new, 10 year plan to deal with the crisis which includes, strengthening the homelessness response system, maintaining existing community housing and creating new assisted and supportive housing.

Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor Discusses The 2026 Budget
The town of Halton Hills issued a press release announcing that Mayor Ann Lawlor has set the direction for the 2026 budget, advising staff that the town's portion of the overall tax increase is not to exceed 3.5%. This morning Jason Agnew spoke with Mayor Lawlor about what factors that contributed to this number.
