Today, is part two of Jason Agnew's conversation with MP Acan but diving into a couple hot button issues here in Halton. One being the automobile sector, and in particular the modification of the ev-mandate... now before we air this we do want to say this interview was taped previous to the current situation happening in Brampton at the Stelantis plant. But before we get these, Jason Agnew ask Sima Acan about her thoughts on the much discussed topic of bail reform.

It's not just ghosts and goblins haunting Milton this October -- it's glowing pumpkins too. For the seventh year, "pumpkins after dark" is lighting up the hills just west of Toronto. A small lake in our own backyard is sharing its story to a new and larger audience. The research completed by scientists over the last 50-plus years at Crawford Lake is the centre of attention in a new exhibition at the Royal Ontario Museum. The story that research tells, however, dates back much further – over 700 years further. It's already garnering  substantial attention with more than three thousand visitors on its first weekend.

The 2025 Canadian Federal Election saw redrawn boundaries for ridings in the Town of Oakville, and with the departure of MP Pam Damoff that cleared the way for a new representative for the Liberal Party to attempt to gain MP status. That is indeed what happened for first time candidate Sima Acan. Acan is now representing the new Oakville-West riding and Jason Agnew got the chance to get to know the new MP a few days ago and asked what she was doing before shifting to a career in politics.

We are only half way through October, but Halton Women's Place is gearing up for their Hope In Every Step walk. The annual event will take place in a new location this year and will also officially kick off Women Abuse Prevention Month on November 1st! Jessica Kaitting reports.
