Oakville’s Ukrainian Easter Bazaar
Culture lives on at an Oakville parish. St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church recently held their Easter Bazaar where artisans showed off their creations and the smells of Ukrainian food filled the air.
New Oakville Library Branch Opens
The Sixteen Mile Sports Complex has finally opened up. Along with it is the new Sixteen Mile Branch of the Oakville Public Library. The new branch offers a swath of new programs and spaces for the residents of Oakville to enjoy.

Mayor Lawlor Discuss Guelph Street Corridor Secondary Plan
The town of Halton Hills is undertaking a Guelph street corridor secondary plan to transform the primary Georgetown commercial artery into a vibrant, mixed-use area. The project focuses on intensifying the area between Maple avenue and hall road/McFarlane drive with 4–12 storey mixed-use buildings, featuring residential units above retail. Last week the town showcased plans to the public, today Mayor Lawlor joins to discuss the plan and how the town has reacted. Mayor Lawlor also discusses the plan for Georgetown to make itself more pedestrian friendly with speed limits being lowered and other traffic changes that are taking place
Paint The Town 2026
The Joseph Brant hospital foundation is fundraising all summer long for their mental health and addictions programs. One of their first fundraisers involved Halton police, high school students, and art.
Sustainable Milton's Future Home Show
The effort to educate, showcase environmentally-friendly products and work towards net zero goals continues to engage the community. Net zero representing the balance of greenhouse gases produced versus those removed from the atmosphere. Sustainable Milton hosted its annual "future house" show on Saturday. Doing so at a new venue this year, the sherwood community centre, which is a facility generating power from solar panels on its roof.
