Step aboard history!
The Great Lakes Museum’s S.S. Keewatin — the world’s only remaining Edwardian-era passenger steamliner — officially launched its second season of tours on May 11, 2025. Built in 1907, this magnificent vessel attracted over 23,000 visitors in 2024 and continues to captivate guests with its elegance, legacy, and maritime stories.

Three guided tours are available:

  • 75-minute Premium Experience: Access to all available passenger and crew areas
  • 45-minute Essentials Experience: Main passenger areas - perfect for families
  • 30-minute Engine Room Experience: Explore the boiler room and original steam engines

All tours include personal headsets.

You can book tickets in advance at greatlakesmuseum.ca/buy-tickets. The museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Important Information About Accessibility
The S.S. Keewatin is not an accessible ship. Gangways, multiple steep stairways, and narrow passages prohibit the use of mobility devices and strollers. Passengers must be physically fit enough to stand for the length of the tour and navigate tight quarters, stairways, and uneven surfaces. The Museum galleries are fully accessible, and the washrooms are partially accessible. Registered dog guides and service animals are welcome.
