Brockville & District Horticultural Society Speaker Event:  Come listen to Judy Wall of Rock Wall Gardening near Perth.  Judy is an expert on the requirements of the unique alpine and succulent plants that enjoy lean rocky soil.  She will share info on soil mixes and tips to make rock gardening easier.

The Community Support Centre of Essex County will be hosting 2 upcoming events! 

Peanut Butter Jam, September 30, 11am-3pm at the Belle River Leagion, 506 Notre Dame St. Live entertainment provided by CC New Band for all to enjoy, everyone can purchase food as well. Admission - Donate a jar of peanut butter or jam to Community Food Pantry. 

 

#FinalFreeze Polar Splash, November 18 at Belle River, West Beach. Registration takes place at, Belle River Legion, 506 Notre Dame St. between 12 & 12:45pm. Participants will then be bussed to Belle River West Beach for the Polar Dip. Jump takes place at 1pm.

Christian Men's Fellowship Charity Golf Tournament, Saturday, Sept. 22nd, starting 8:30 am, at the Tincap Golf Course, Airport Road, Brockville, hosted by Highway Pentecostal Church and Thousand Islands Ministry to Men, to support Upper Canada Youth For Christ.

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run For The Cure is a 1K or 5K walk or run held on September 30th, 2018 at the Union Gas Information Technology Centre (20 Bloomfield Road, Chatham). It’s an inspirational day that raises significant funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, the largest charitable funder of breast cancer research in Canada. The Canadian Cancer Society invests these dollars in the most promising breast cancer research that is leading the way in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care, as well as funding Canada’s leading breast cancer patient support network, which works to improve the quality of life and the emotional support needed for those affected by this disease.

A Tale of Two Countries - Access to Oral Health Care in Canada and the U.S.A. 

The objectives for the day will be to: 

Educate health care providers, community partners, and decisions makers about access to oral health care challenges in Windsor-Essex County and how it affects adults and seniors in our community. 

Clarify the history and division between dentistry and the rest of the American and Canadian health care systems and the impact on patients themselves. 

Hear from individuals and health care providers with lived experience of this problem. 

Engage participants in being part of a local Oral Health Coalition.

 

This event will be held on October 12, 8:30am-4:30pm at the Fogolar Furlan Club, 1800 North Service Rd. 

Cost, $30. Registration 8am, workshop 8:30am. Lunch is provided. Sign up at wechu.org/oralhealthworkshops

This workshop qualifies as a Category 3 RCDSO Course (7 CE points) for Ontario dentists.
