Award winning playwright, author, and spoken word performer Charlie Petch (They/He) tells true stories from their past as a 911 operator, hospital bed allocator, emergency room clerk, and street worker. “No one’s special at the hot dog cart” is filled with busking performance, novelty instruments, clown, tragicomedy, lessons in de-escalation technique, and a deep appreciation of street communities.

Join the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region on Tuesday, May 21 for our Kelseys Fundraising Night at 10 YMCA Drive, St. Catharines! A portion of your bill will be donated back to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region, starting at 6:00 pm. The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's is Canada’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, taking place in more than 200 communities across the country. In 2022, Canadians participating in the Walk raised an amazing $5.7 million. Since 2015, the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s has raised over $41 million for people living with dementia and their care partners. All the funds raised through this event stay in the Niagara Region allowing us to provide vital counselling services and programs for those living with a progressive dementia and their care partners. The Ranney Gorge Run Returns May 5th! Registration is open for the Annual Ranney Gorge Run ~ Presented by Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company, in support of the Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) Foundation. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, May 5th, 2024.   The annual run will again take place on the roads of Ferris Provincial Park and over the breathtaking Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge in Campbellford, ON. The event includes the officially timed 10.55K (half of a half marathon) and 5K run/walk routes and the popular 1K Fun Run for Kids. Funds raised will support patient care and the purchase of new life-saving equipment for Campbellford Memorial Hospital. Sarnia-Lambton does not have a natural (green) burial ground.  Mark Richardson, Manager of Cemtery Services for Niagara Falls will share his reasons why every person should be able to have this choice when they die. To be buried in a natural setting that protects the land, air and water, in a way that nourishes, protects and celebrates Nature.  This is the final presentation in the Climate Action Sarnia-Lambton winter Speakers' Series for 2024.
