BurlingtonGreen is pleased to be hosting another engaging and informative webinar with the wonderful, Bob Bell.

The Mystery of Bird Migration: Now You See Me, Now You Don’t!

In this talk, Bob Bell will discuss the amazing journeys many birds undertake twice a year, as they migrate back and forth between their northern breeding grounds and southern wintering grounds.

He will present theories of bird migration, beginning with the wild ideas of our ancient ancestors to our current understanding which uses modern technology to track bird travel in real time.

Bob will consider questions such as: WHY do some birds migrate? WHAT triggers it? WHEN do they go? WHERE do they go? HOW do they navigate? WHO undertakes the furthest annual trip, migrates at the highest altitude? What bird conducts the longest non-stop flight? Are there different kinds of migration or do all migrating birds act in the same way?

Also shared will be the many hazards and challenges that these remarkable creatures encounter and must deal with as they wing their way hundreds to thousands of kilometres along their travel routes.

Bob will conclude his talk with tips on where best to observe birds during spring and fall migration, along with some suggestions for further reading and information. We hope you can join us to gain a greater appreciation for the incredible feats carried out by the birds that surround us.

Valentine's Day Pet Food Drive

For many struggling families, choosing between feeding themselves and feeding their beloved pets is a heartbreaking reality.

The demand is greater than ever !  Every bag of kibble, or can of food makes a difference to fill their empty bellies.

After speaking with a spokesperson for Newark Neighbours CIFAR has learned there’s a need to fill the shelves with pet food.

  • kitten kibble ( canned) , puppy food, senior & adult formulas and puppy training pads

Community Initiative for Animal Rescue will host a  Valentine’s Day Pet Food Drive, donations will be shared with Newark Neighbours and non profit (Niagara) rescue groups.

Please help us so that together we can fill the empty bowls.

Trouble is, Polly is just a hallucination! Convinced that Polly is real, Timothy delights in welcoming the alluring guest to Judy’s wedding. Meanwhile, he and his wife, Ursula – who is less than thrilled over Timothy’s obsession with Polly – contend with a host of complications and a barrage of colorful guests.
