Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Invitation to experience and see lawn bowling
The Windsor Lawn Bowling Club at Jackson Park invites you to come see and try the sport of lawn bowling. Initial visit is free and all equipment provided. Please wear flat athletic footwear (no cleats). Located next to the Ouellette overpass and Parkside Tennis Club with access from McDougall Avenue next to the City greenhouse. Available dates: Fridays May 17, 24, 31 at 6 pm. Saturdays May 18, 25, June 1 at 1:00 pm, Sundays May 19, 26, June 2 at 1:00 pm. Email cary@wlbc.ca to confirm a visit.

The Oakville Historical Society's Speakers' Night Series presents:
From the compound steam engine and gasoline of the Industrial Revolution to the lightbulb and the telephone of the Victorian era to the Canadarm and Blackberry of today; we invented them all!!! From a life-long passion for Canadian inventors and technology, Professor Mark Rector will provide an update on his comprehensive tome, chock full of inventors’ stories, firsts, and innovations that happened here in our “Home and Inventive Land.”
The Oakville Historical Society's Speakers' Nights are open to the public.
Events take place at the Coach House of the Erchless Estate, located at 8 Navy Street (corner of King Street) in historic downtown Oakville.

Cameos have been around for thousands of years and there is a lot more than meets the eye when looking at them, from the different materials from which they are crafted, through their uses and the diverse subject matter they depict, to how styles have evolved over the years.
The Oakville Historical Society is pleased to our Speakers' Night Series: free, in person, drop in events with speakers presenting on a wide range of topics.
