ANDARA Gallery Presents:
Tara Wilkinson I HEADWATERS

Photography + Imagination

1 April – 30 June, 2023

ANDARA Gallery in Prince Edward County presents “HEADWATERS”, the latest solo exhibition of works by Canadian fine art photographer, Tara Wilkinson. “HEADWATERS” marks the debut of her first exhibition entirely of digital art photography.

Originating as photographs taken on location throughout Prince Edward County, “HEADWATERS” explores the beauty, flow and energy of streams, ponds, rivers and lakes throughout the seasons in Prince Edward County. Wilkinson then returned to her studio where in post-production, she transformed each image into a work of art using digital paintbrushes … and her imagination run wild.

From a pond brimming with life on a warm summer’s day … to a flowing stream beneath a thin shield of ice scattered with snow - the resulting works of art burst with colour, texture, energy and hope. Some of the works resemble the original subject matter; while others are seemingly transformed into another universe.  The viewer gets to decide.

Tara says of the series: “By their very nature, “headwaters” are defined as the original starting point of a stream or river, beginning at the furthest point away from where the body of water empties or merges with another. It seemed a fitting title for this show as the source of my ideas for this work began while shooting on location, then flowed through post-production and my creative process to morph into this beautiful new way of seeing and translating the flow of water, imagery and ideas”.

ANDARA Gallery is open daily from 11 AM to 5 PM. The exhibition will run from 1 April to 30 June, 2023. For more information, visit andaragallery.com.
