“The Witch and the Glitch” - Gord Love (script, lyrics) and Michael Capon’s (score) new musical is now ready for a live audience. Bottle Tree Productions is happy to present this one-act musical comedy as part of their Studio Series. Coined as “a musical fable for adults”, the show runs Thurs – Sat evenings 7:30pm and Sun matinees 2:30pm from Thurs Feb 15 to Sun Mar 3 at 130 Clergy Street E. (the Bottle Tree Studio in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church) Tickets, $25.79 inclusive, are available online at bottletreeinc.com.
This one-act musical shines a comical light on issues of love and loneliness, and explores them in a way that is entertaining, endearing, and thought-provoking. Two lovers, compelled to stand back to back for fear of facing imperfections in the other, gradually learn to turn and accept each other as they are. A paragon, enthralled with his own magnificence, learns to embrace his vulnerabilities. A witch, frustrated by her inability to control people and events with her unreliable spells, learns to let go of her anger, and emerge from her loneliness. Equally importantly, this charming fairy tale for grownups will simply satisfy an audience’s desire for laughs, catchy tunes, and love!
Bringing energy, comedic chops and their beautiful voices to the show are: Shannon Donnelly as Hazel, Michael Donnelly as Paragon, Brayah Pickard as Chloe, and Daniel Pauley as Joey. Michael Capon supports on keyboard with music that will become your next ear-worm.
