A laugh-a-minute comedy of confusion based on a real-life story!

In the late 1960s, two Filipino nurses come to work at a small-town Saskatchewan hospital. Cultural clashes, personality differences, homesickness, and the amorous but dim-witted goalie from the local hockey team complicate the women’s lives and create chaos at the hospital. Add a doctor who is more concerned with fishing than his patients, and an overly romantic candy striper, and you’ve got the makings of a story that will have you rolling in the aisles.

Based on the true story of her mother’s immigration to Canada, Badian’s play is part romantic comedy, part farce, and all fun!

Curbside pickup meal for seniors on March 23rd, 2023

Prince Edward Community Care continues the monthly curbside pick-up of meals on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of Homemade soup, roast leg of chicken, potatoes, vegetables, roll and chocolate cake for dessert. The cost is $18.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at The View Restaurant at the Picton Golf Club. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway and made a household name by the Oscar-winning 2002 film version starring Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, and Nicole Kidman, the powerful story concerns three women from different eras who each grapple with their inner demons and their roles in society. The exciting premiere radiates with star power, with Kelli O’Hara and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato joining Fleming as the opera’s trio of heroines. Phelim McDermott—who most recently wowed Met audiences with his staging of Philip Glass’s Akhnaten—directs this compelling drama, with Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin on the podium to conduct Puts’s poignant and powerful score.
