At 4pm we are having a Family Service for all ages, carols, story and a treat to take home.  At 7pm, we will have our traditional Candlelight Communion Service.  On Christmas morning, we will have a gathering at 10am.

Community Event - Niagara - EarlyON NCDSB and Niagara Mobile Closet

The EarlyON Child and Family Centre with the Niagara Catholic District School Board for the Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake locations along with Niagara’s and Niagara Mobile Closet is offering a FREE OUTDOOR event on Wednesday, December 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We will be hosting this event at the MacBain Community Centre on 7150 Montrose Rd, Niagara Falls, during our Explore Outdoors Program. Along with the Niagara Mobile Closet, this event will include other community partners such as the Niagara Falls Public Library, Niagara Fire Fighters Association, Niagara Parents and the Niagara Falls Community Health Center. The Niagara Mobile Closet was a service born out of the pandemic but they have grown and expanded to fill an ongoing need for clothing, hygiene items and access to services for families.

Optimist Club of Lindsay Christmas trees sales have returned to Canadian Tire on Kent Street West. Six to eight-foot Fraser and balsam firs are available for a base price of $65. Taller ones are available for $75. Hours are similar to Canadian Tire — just look for the flashing blue light! Proceeds support club projects, which benefit local youth.

Prince Edward Community Care has announced that they will be holding an online “holiday social” event for seniors 60+. The details are still being confirmed and the plan is to include a Christmas craft and holiday music, too. Community Event - Quinte - PEC Seniors Luncheon Christmas Turkey Dinner

Prince Edward Community Care is pleased that the December curbside meal is a scrumptious turkey dinner with all the trimmings prepared by Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions Catering. Seniors will enjoy homemade soup, roasted turkey with stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce, bread, and pumpkin pie for dessert. The cost is $18.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up on Thursday, December 22nd at The View Restaurant, Picton Golf Course, 734 County Road 49, Picton. Seniors’ Active Living Fair as a virtual event taking place online using Zoom Webinars. All seniors 60+ are welcome to attend these free events. Local businesses and organizations are presenting 1 hour Zoom Webinars every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-2pm. All seniors who participate receive a free “Swag Bag” from Community Care and the presenters filled with great stuff including pamphlets, treats and information flyers. “Door Prizes” are drawn at each webinar and one of the participants will win. December Zoom Webinar topics include “Keeping Our Community on the Move” with Shelly Ackers; “Why Brain Health is so Important” with Jennifer Loner; “Foot Care, Meal Programs and rides to help seniors live at home” with Co-ordinators from Community Care; “Fraud Awareness, Current Scams and Safe Winter Driving” with Constable Aaron Miller; “20 Questions, A chance to ask anything you might want to know more about from your local OPP” with Staff Sgt. Admission is Free, and you can also visit the museum while you’re here. The Museum Hours are Tuesday to Thursday 10am to 4pm, Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sundays and Mondays we are closed.
