Artist Gerry Lantaigne will lead a group of local artists in the creation of 7 more canoe murals featuring the work of famous Canadian artists Tom Thomson and members of the Group of Seven. Artists will paint the canoes “en plein air” during a week-long event in Downtown Huntsville’s River Mill Park. Artists to be confirmed. Engage with the artists while you watch the beautiful paintings being created! Once completed, these canoes will be displayed in Downtown Huntsville as part of the Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery Tour.

Mary's Merry Minstrels presents a show of Old-time Country and Old Time Gospel Music. Come and sing along to all your favorite gospel and country tunes. Songs of love and salvation, love went wrong and the joy of love – there might even be a train song or two and chariots. The repertoire includes many classics like Shall We Gather at the River, Old Time Religion, Country Roads, and Ring of Fire.

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Kawartha String Orchestra Annual Spring Concert

The Kawartha String Orchestra (KSO) will be hosting their annual spring concert on Sunday May 7 starting at 2pm at Grace United Church 581 Howden St, Peterborough (corner of Monaghan and Howden). This event is to raise money for One City Peterborough.

Conductor Tak Kwan and the KSO will play pieces by Vivaldi and Manookian, as well as classic movie themes from Pirates of the Caribbean and Titanic. Soloists include Tak Kwan on violin, Rebecca Birrell on vocals, Pamela Haskell on flute, Ron Kervin on bodhran, and more.

Admission is free; cash donations to One City Peterborough are gratefully accepted.
