Backyard Composting 101 Workshop Wed Aug 16

Ready to give backyard composting a try and need help getting started? 

Join us over by REAL’s Demo Compost Site on Wednesday,. August 16 at 6:30pm. 

Tristan O’Reilly will explain the basics of composting, how to avoid problems, how to use it in your garden and more!

IODE Margaret Stokes Chapter Petrolia are hosting Quilted Treasures on September 15 from 10-5 and September 16 from 10-4 at Christ Church Anglican, 414 Oil Street in Petrolia.

Besides all the gorgeous quilts on display there will be many unique vendors in the Merchant Mall, quilting demonstrations, a cafe by Christ Church Anglican. There is a Trunk Show on Friday at 2:00 by Three Sisters Quilting. New this year is the “Quilters Garage Sale” filled with fabrics, unfinished projects, quilting supplies, patterns and much more. Donations for the Quilters Garage Sale are graciously accepted.

Get ready for a Washer Toss Tournament on the beach at Hotel Pontiac, "The Fort!"

Clear your calendar now for August 13th as we serve up fun, family, and competition. Teams of two MUST pre-register online for only $20 per team.

You are cordially invited by Father Cal and the parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Cornwall, to their Annual Parish Supper which will take place on Sunday, September 17th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall.

Menu:  Spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, buns and pie.

Tickets: Adults: $15.00, children (7-12 yrs.): $10.00, children 6 yrs. and under: FREE.  All take outs $15.00.

The Sarnia-Lambton Kidney Walk will take place on September 24, 2023 starting at 9:00am in Canatara Park under the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion. The walk will offer two accessible routes (1km & 5km) that will go through the park and lead towards the waterfront in Point Edward, Ontario.  

Walkers who have signed up for the event will register in the morning, receive their walk shirt, tackle their route and then come back to a community run BBQ. 

At the event we will have speakers covering all avenues of living with Kidney Disease (patients on dialysis, transplant recipients, organ donors etc) and their stories.
