Former Deputy Mayor Weighs In
Former Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette has chimed in on the use of the Integrity Commissioner to resolve a Code of Conduct violation between two councillors. Forgette does not believe that the Integrity Commissioner should have been involved at all. This stems from emails and social media post by Councillor Sara Inch to Deputy Mayor Maggie Horsfield. The acting Integrity Commissioner Nicole Singh stated "based on the preponderance of evidence, I find that the respondent's allegations were untrue, disparaging, abusive and ought reasonably to have been known to be unwelcome." Due to the violation of the Code of Conduct, Councillor Inch has to forgo 90 days of pay which amounts to $6,000.
