Retired Women Teachers of Ontario / Organisation des enseignantes retraitées de l’Ontario (RWTO/OERO) continues to exist because there is still a need for an organization that cares for the interests and well-being of retired women teachers. If you are a retired woman teacher from any part of the world, we invite you to join RWTO/OERO. All retired women teachers are welcome regardless of your type of qualifications, the level of education you taught, how long you taught or whether or not you are collecting a teacher’s pension. Local Affordable Housing Committee Hosts Provincial Election All Candidates Meeting

08:30 AM — 11:00 AM

The Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee (NAHC) is encouraging the citizens of Northumberland to be well informed when electing their Provincial Member of Parliament and invite you to attend the All Candidates Meeting they are hosting on Thursday May 26th at 8:30am at the Salvation Army Community Church.   The NAHC is stressing the importance of discussing critical housing affordability issues with candidates. “Access to safe, stable and affordable housing is becoming more and more challenging for members of our community. Investments to increase the supply of affordable housing are necessary to address the housing crisis in Ontario, driving positive social and economic outcomes as we emerge from the pandemic,” said Meaghan Macdonald, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland. “It is for this reason that, as members of the Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee, we think it is so important to ensure that an all candidates meeting focused on affordable housing solutions is part of the upcoming provincial election campaign. We encourage everyone in Northumberland County to register to vote and to take advantage of all opportunities to be informed about each candidates’ solutions to address the housing crisis in our community.”   Each level of government plays an important role in the development of all housing types. The Federal Government’s National Housing Strategy offers several programs and initiatives to make rental and homeownership more affordable. Our communities need to hear candidates views on the strategy and how they will ensure Northumberland has what it needs to offer some relief to the current housing crisis. Join us: Thursday May 26th  8:30am Salvation Army Church  59 Ballantine St. Cobourg   For media inquiries, contact: Dawn Campbell, Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee, 905-207-5017 Missy McLean, Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee, 647-880-6363

Retired Women Teachers of Ontario (RWTO/OERO)

12:00 AM — 11:59 PM

Retired Women Teachers of Ontario / Organisation des enseignantes retraitées de l’Ontario (RWTO/OERO) continues to exist because there is still a need for an organization that cares for the interests and well-being of retired women teachers. More importantly, RWTO/OERO provides a forum whereby retired women teachers can come together for social interaction, stimulating programs, emotional support and most of all, friendship. If you are a retired woman teacher from any part of the world, we invite you to join RWTO/OERO. All retired women teachers are welcome regardless of your type of qualifications, the level of education you taught, how long you taught or whether or not you are collecting a teacher’s pension. Our organization offers many benefits: the opportunity to network, maintain friendships and enjoy camaraderie, and the opportunity to participate in the various insurance plans which are available to members.
