A food support program in North Halton is coming up on just its sixth month offering help to those facing food insecurity. At the moment, a couple of dozen families take advantage of the "community fridge for life" offerings – a number which grows during the two hours of operation each weekend, according to food for life.

On Saturday, Halton women's place held their annual walk to end violence against women. The event was not only to raise money for the Halton Women's Place, but also to end the stigma of speaking out against domestic violence. Here's Craig McNicoll with the story.

As we've discussed halloween can be  very exciting night night for kids and parents alike, but it can also be an unexpectedly exciting night for your pets... and that may not be a good thing. Jason Agnew spoke with Calla James, the director of communication for the Oakville and Milton humane society about how to best prepare our pets for the big night of strangers coming to the door.

Let's talk halloween safety, and of course here in Halton Region that starts with a few tips from Halton Regional Police... Jason Agnew spoke with media relations officer Ryan Anderson about one of the traditional safety sayings that parents tell children is "don't take candy from strangers"... but then on halloween we urge kids to go out and night and literally take candy from strangers. So Jason Agnew Enlightened Ryan with that epiphany.

By this point i hope the trick or treater's costumes are all good to go.... but what about those who are giving out the candy? what's their role? Our parenting pundit Julie Cole chats halloween participation on the other side of the door.
