Marching For Veterans sends gifts to soldiers in Latvia
Volunteers including MP Tony Clement, gathered at Clement's office in Huntsville on April 12 to put together care packages for Canadian soldiers based in Latvia. Residents poured in throughout the day to donate items. April 10, 2018 – Gravenhurst, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor
People, businesses and communities in Parry Sound–Muskoka will benefit from the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and the creation of more well-paying, middle-class jobs thanks to a strategic investment by the Government of Canada of more than $7.1 million.
The announcement was made today by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor. The Minister was on a two-day tour of Northern Ontario to promote the release of the federal Prosperity and Growth Strategy for Northern Ontario, an economic development plan that will help guide Government of Canada investments and services in the region.
The FedNor funding announced today will support 12 priority projects being led by local organizations including: Muskoka Futures, Lofthouse Manufacturing, Muskoka Rock Company, Crofters Food Ltd., Muskoka North Good Food Co-op, LB Huntsville Brewhouse, Parry Sound Area Community Business & Development Centre, Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society, Trestle Brewery, Regional Tourism Organization 12 Parry Sound / Muskoka, The Network Gravenhurst and the Township of Armour.

Purple Tea Party at Huntsville Place Mall
Hospice Huntsville is once again hosting their Purple Tea Party fundraiser Sat. April 7 at the Huntsville Place Mall. Funds raised goes towards their Hike for Hospice. You can also take part in the silent auction. For details go to their website.

BoardWalk Construction
The Town of Gravenhurst in collaboration with The Gonneau Group have begun the Muskoka Wharf Boardwalk Replacement Project . The purpose of the project is to replace portions of the existing deck boards and underlying framework timbers. The project is expected to last for approximately nine weeks.

The winter storm has arrived in Parry Sound-Muskoka
The Winter Storm Warning continues for April 4. Expect to see more snow, gusting winds and possibly freezing rain tonight as the storm warning continues. Areas in South Muskoka expected to get winds of up to 70 km/hr. Several collisions and power outages reported with more expected tonight. The OPP is asking residents to drive to the conditions of the road.
