Local students walk a mile for YWCA Muskoka
Students from St. Dominic High School came together on May 24 to raise awareness about violent prevention in their own version of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. YWCA Muskoka was there to take part and thank students for efforts.
Transportation company protests at leaders debate
Members of Hammond Transportation drove school buses around the Parry Sound Stockey Centre parking lot on Friday, May 11 to protest the current procurement process. The protest happened before the Ontario Leaders Debate.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2018
Men across Muskoka are getting ready to put on some high heels to raise awareness and funds for violence prevention. This year's YWCA Muskoka Walk a Mile in Her Shoes happens Sunday, May 27.
FlyGTA providing air taxi service to Muskoka
Visitors and commuters from the Greater Toronto Area will now have an opportunity to fly to Muskoka from downtown Toronto. FlyGTA, the District of Muskoka and the Muskoka Airport Board have partnered in this one-year pilot project. The service is expected to run from June to October. Click here to read the full release.

Recent threat to local beaches
OPP are investigating vandalism that took place at some local beaches in Gravenhurst and Bracebridge and are checking to see if it is connected to a recent letter that was given to a local media outlet that made reference to destroying beaches in the area.

The current Fire Danger Rating is set at high in Muskoka. In a previous interview with Gravenhurst Fire Department they remind us how easy it is for grass fires to start.
