Muskoka Pride Conference
Muskoka Pride Committee hosted their 5th annual Conference, at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Gravenhurst. Sessions include: Queer Community & Intersectionality, LGBTQ Terminology, Community Supports (PFLAG, Gilbert Centre), and a Community Panel.
The Muskoka Pride Community is a volunteer group that formed in 2009, whose purpose is to increase awareness of the LGBT community of Muskoka and to create opportunities for inclusivity within Muskoka that overcome heterosexism and homo/bi/trans-phobia, providing a safe community for LGBT people.
Bala Legion making use of their lands

WWII vet Liam Dwyer remembers
Bracebridge resident Liam Dwyer is a WWII vet. He was a Petty Officer in the Navy. In this clip he talks about his brother-in-law, a teenager, who died in action. Dwyer speaks about sadness, regret and hope.
The push for 100 per cent compostable coffee pods
Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller has introduced a private member's bill called the Reducing Waste One Pod at a Time Act. The purpose of this bill is to make compostable coffee pods a provincial standard. Muskoka Roastery Coffee Co. is the second company in Canada to launch the completely compostable coffee pods and is partnering with Miller to help push for change and divert coffee pods away from the landfill. The debate on this bill will be on Nov. 23 at Queens Park. Click here to view the bill.

Huntsville Air Cadets looking for new recruits
The 844 Norseman Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a service group for youth between the ages of 12 to 18. The club is currently looking for new recruits. If you are interested to know more about the air cadets, you can go to their website.
