Salem Chapel Restorations
Salem Chapel BME Church in St. Catharines has been undergoing renovations and historic restorations for the past 5 years. Recently, they received a $30,000 U.S. donation from Ray Adamyk to convert the vinyl flooring to hardwood and replace the carpet on the pulpit. Renovations will continue on the National Historic site built in 1855, but close to a million dollars still needs to be raised.

Polar Plunge - Niagara Regional Police Service
Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls was the setting for the Niagara Regional Police Service Polar Plunge event. 75 brave souls took the plunge in freezing cold water to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ontario. Thanks to everyone involved, over $10,000 was raised. Jennifer Wittig files this report.
