Day of Reflection
The Catholic Women's League at St. Paul's Church in Gravenhurst recently did a day of reflection on the terrorist attacks that happened to the Twin Towers in the United States, also referred to as 9/11. Ladies across Muskoka gathered to hear from a special guest who was affected that day and to hear about her efforts in trying to make a difference in the world.
The new Bracebridge Fire Hall and Muskoka Paramedic Services
It's a building shared between two agencies that work together closely. There was an official grand opening on Sept 6. Both the fire department and Muskoka Paramedic Services are happy with their new home.
Back to School Safety
It's back to school time and the OPP will be out making sure we are following the rules around school zone speed limits and buses. We met up with the OPP on Sept. 5, the second day of school, to monitor drivers through the school zones.

Three years after experiencing the massive earthquake in Nepal, local resident Kelly Hammond goes back with her team to climb to Everest Base Camp. It was a time she says she will never forget. Hammond was in studio on May 23, 2018 to talk about her experience.
Explosion from blasting in Bracebridge
Release from District of Muskoka:
Please be advised that there has been an explosion caused by blasting related to the Sewer and Road Works project in the Ontario/Kimberley/Church Street area in the Town of Bracebridge. The blasting has resulted in property damage on Kimberley Avenue. Senior District Staff, emergency services and other specialist are on-site investigating the situation and assessing risk. We have limited information at this time, however we understand that there are no personal injuries. There is property damage and more information will be provided when available. Due to the situation, Kimberly Drive is closed to traffic until further notice.
