Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Honouring athletes from lacrosse to basketball and even athletes from the 1800’s, last week the Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame inducted its Class of 2026.
16 Mile Sports Complex Now Open
Having been in the works since 2008 and with construction for the latest expansion beginning in 2021, the 16 Mile Sports Complex is now officially open. The massive complex is now home to a skating rink, a library and much more all thanks to a very frustrated mayor.

2026 Burlington Sports Hall Of Fame
This week the Burlington golf and country club hosted the 18th annual Burlington sports hall of fame induction ceremony. This years inductees were Ted Goveia, Chris Gioskos, Muzammal Nawaz, and Bert, Scott and Mark Oldershaw. The inductees also share how much this honour really means to them.
Georgetown's Veterans Crosswalk
In Georgetown there is a new place where the public can remember and honour veterans every time they cross the street. The new veterans crosswalk was unveiled yesterday by The Town of Halton Hills and the Royal Canadian Legion near remembrance park. Georgetown veterans were honoured by being given the chance to be the first ones to walk the crosswalk.
Nazia White Previews Seniors Month Events
The month of June is Seniors Month and there will be a wide array of events and activities all across the Halton Region. Nazia White, Manager of Adult and Older Adult Recreation Services for the City of Burlington, previews some of these events that seniors can look forward to.
The Bandology Instrument Library
Bandology’s Instrument Library has recently moved to the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre. From the tiny flute to the massive tuba, the library allows students who want the practice to borrow the instruments for a whole semester.
