To our daily tariff talk now, last week as Jason Agnew spoke with Marianne Meed Ward, the Burlington Mayor was ready to get on a plane and head to Washington in hopes of speaking with US officials. Jason spoke with the Mayor this afternoon and got her thoughts on the trip.

The town of Oakville is seeking residents input on a new by-law that would ban protests near vulnerable social infrastructure such as places of worship, schools and hospitals. This was one of the topics in Jason Agnew's monthly chat with Oakville Mayor Rob Burton, and while Jason fully agrees with the potential by-law sentiment, he presented to the mayor a question: if a protest is told where to protest, doesn't it cease to be a protest?

A first of its kind fundraiser is wrapping up in Milton. Over the past week the Darling Home for Kids and the Milton location of Maverick's Donuts company combined resources to raise money for the home. As part of the appeal, a 15-year old who uses the home's services, was provided the opportunity to design and decorate his own donut.

Last Thursday in Milton the town held it's annual International Women's Day March. The community came together to celebrate progress and advocate for equality. Ainsley Soeterik has the story, which begins with Mayor Gord Krantz doubling down as town crier.

Yesterday, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and Milton MP Adam Van Koeverden came together at Burlington City Hall with a variety of participants to raise a flag to promote awareness of the Special Olympics. In Milton, the Special Olympics programming began in 1998 with one sport. They've since expanded to 9 different sports where athlete's get together at least once a week to train and play in preparation for tournaments. This year, the organization plans to expand with a new fundamentals program. Jason Agnew spoke with Lauren Lamers, the public relations coordinator for the Milton Special Olympics organization about the expansion to include a wider age group.
