Barnettis Arcade
With titles ranging from Pac-Man to NBA Jam, there is something for everyone to bring out the kid in you. Zach Trinetti opened up Barnetti’s at 425 St. Clair St. 62 machines available to play. He said they include games from the ‘80s up to the 2000s. We had a chance to catch up with Zach shortly after the grand opening to ask him how things went.
Build The Barrier moves forward
A movement to get concrete barriers installed on the 401 from Tilbury to London is gaining momentum. More than 100 Chatham-Kent residents attended a town hall-style meeting last night in Chatham hosted by MPP Rick Nicholls and the Build the Barrier group. Group member Alysson Storey says this issue affects everyone and they have worked so hard to get here. Jeff Yurek, MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London announced a $67.8 million plan to widen the highway from four lanes to six, and install concrete median barriers between Tilbury and Merlin Road.

Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff has joined mayors of Stratford, Windsor, London, Sarnia and St. Thomas in calling for the provincial government to provide tax incentives to help promote the film and television industry in this part of the province. We spoke with Rob Bellamy founder of the CK international film festival and Founder of JX3 Media, and Ben Srokosz, two time winner of the CK international film festival to get their thoughts on the new support for the film industry in CK.

Chatham Kent Scooter Festival Competition
Despite Covid-19 The Chatham-Kent Scooter Festival had a great turnout. Presented by the Chatham Kinsmen Club, this marks the second year that the event will be held. According to co-chair Jessica Spafford, 2019’s event was a huge success with 41 kids registered from across Chatham-Kent and several nearby cities including Windsor and London.
