Final Leg for the Big Push
The Final Push left the Sydenham Campus in Wallaceburg Wednesday, May 23rd.
Dave Depencier and Dan Van Moorsel put in a 1000 kilometre on their bikes as they rode across southwestern Ontario to raise money for the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Film 101 at St. Clair College
Film 101 was another successful year. Film101 was held at a new venue, St. Clair College. The high school students in Chatham and Sarnia got an opportunity to experience various workshops and demonstrations in the media field.
CKPL Celebrated Local Writing Talent with Author Festival
As part of Chatham-Kent Public Library’s ongoing goal to support the local writing community, the Read Local: CK Author Festival was held at the Chatham Branch on Saturday, May 5, 2018. 18 authors were available and met with readers for one on one sessions. Local author, Ray Robertson discussed his new book “1979” which is set in Chatham.

2018 CK Expo
Thousands of area residents packed the Bradley Centre this weekend for the fifth annual CK Expo, celebrating pop culture.
Organizer Rob Bellamy says the event has been growing over the last few years.
“The very first large one we had was just under 1500 people, the year after that was just over 1600, and we had 1700-ish last year,” Bellamy says. “It’s been amazing how much Chatham has embraced this event, and it is so nice to see so many people get involve, not only helping us get ready but when they get here they’re dressed up in costume or they’re helping support the vendors.”
