Christmas @ The Homestead: Merry Makers 

Date: Saturday, December 7

Times Slots: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 2 - 4 p.m.

Cost: By donation (non-perishable food items encouraged)

Space is limited, pre-registration required

Bring along the kids and join us on Saturday, December 7 for a festive morning or afternoon of traditional holiday crafts and hot chocolate. 

With the house decorated for the holidays, visitors will discover a different craft to make their own in each room, and learn how Christmas was celebrated by the families who lived here over 220+ years. 

Can you spare a few hours a week to help adults in Niagara improve their literacy skills? Our tutor training workshop will show you how. Workshop dates are November 18,19 and 20 from 1 to 4 pm. Attendance at all three sessions is mandatory. Registration is on Monday November 11th at 1 pm. Call 905-684-3500, ext 550 for details. 

In addition to retired women teachers, RWTO/OERO membership is open to Retired Women Educational Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, Child and Youth Workers/Counsellors, Speech/Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Social Workers, Psychologists, and Office Support Staff.

Celebrate Christmas across two centuries of family farm life on a special candle-lit tour of the John Brown House.

• Thursday, December 12, 12 - 8 p.m.
• Friday, December 13, 12 -8 p.m.
• Saturday, December 14, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Enjoy hot chocolate as you are lead through the oldest home in St. Catharines, built beginning in 1796. Discover stories of the farming families who once lived here and learn how Christmas traditions changed over time into the twentieth century. Each room will be candle-lit and decorated to reflect a different historical era.

Tours begin every hour, on the hour. Tours are 50 minutes in length. Registration is encouraged, but drop-in visitors are welcome. 

Open by donation. Recommended $5 per person donation plus a non-perishable food item for Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold.

Village of Hope Niagara & Calvary Gospel Church invite all members of the community to join us for our FREE Turkey Dinner, happening Thursday December 12th at the Vineland United Mennonite Church (3327 Menno Street, Vineland). There are two seatings; 4pm & 5:30pm. Food prepared by Just Cooking Rustic Italian, and Grand Oak Culinary Market.
