Monday Night Chaos at Milton Council
There was chaos Monday night in Milton, after Council voted down a motion that called on the town to urge the Federal Government to establish a two way arms embargo against Israel, request an expansion of the Gaza temporary resident visa program and endorse the principles of the apartheid free communities pledge, which is a commitment by a coalition of groups and communities to end support for what it calls "Israel's apartheid regime." The motion was defeated in a close 5-4 vote. Councillors Sameera Ali, Adil Khalqi, Sammy Ijaz and Sarah Marshall supported the motion, while Councillors John Challinor, Colin Best, George Minakakis and Rick Malboeuf, along with Mayor Gord Krantz, voting against it. Jason Agnew caught up with both Ali and Krantz to hear both sides of the story.

Milton's Community Fridge For Life
A food support program in North Halton is coming up on just its sixth month offering help to those facing food insecurity. At the moment, a couple of dozen families take advantage of the "community fridge for life" offerings – a number which grows during the two hours of operation each weekend, according to food for life.
