Residents could lose their room if pulled out of Long Term Care
At the start of the pandemic, Pamela Johnson pulled her mother out of long term care, with the plan to care for her in her own home until the crisis passed. She didn't realize, however, that if her mother didn't return after a specified amount of time, she would lose her room at the facility.

The Voices, Opportunities & Choices Employment Club (VOCEC) exists to create jobs for people living with mental illness. VOCEC operates a small businesses in Kingston including cafés, landscaping, a car wash, catering, a print shop,assembly/packaging, warehousing, distribution and cleaning. Together these ventures employ over 75 people living with mental illness.
Kingston Relay At Home 2020
This year, Kingston Relay For Life has been changed into Relay At Home — a virtual event that will unite supporters across the country. With interactive activities and all the hallmark components of the in-person events, Relay At Home will show that no one in our communities has to face cancer alone.

Awesome Kingston Foundation During Pandemic
Awesome Kingston gives away a $1,000 no-strings-attached microgrant each month at a public pitch party to make an awesome idea come true. At the pitch party, finalists take the stage to give a 90-second 'elevator pitch' and take questions from the trustees and audience. At the end of the night, the trustees deliberate, and one of the projects walks away with the microgrant. Dan checks in with the group for an update during the pandemic.
