Well tis the season to be jolly and safe.   The Muskoka Fire Departments has teamed up with us to bring to you the 12 days of Holiday Safety Tips.

Bid on your favourite trees through out different business located in downtown Bracebridge until Dec 15th.  Proceeds will go to support Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Muskoka.

Muskoka Stage Works is taking their expertise to seniors, across Muskoka with a program called Brain Works. The goal is to help seniors exercise their minds through various activities. The hope is to expand this program. For information you can contact Robin Clipsham at 705-205-0989.

The National Historical Site of Bethune House in Gravenhurst is celebrating a Victorian Christmas.  Here's the details.

Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller debated his private member's bill at Queen's Park on Nov. 23. Known as the Reducing Waste One Pod at a Time Act, Miller received a lot of support from other members of parliament. 

Huntsville council declared the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment surplus after a $3.9-million dollar offer from De Novo Trust Fund. The decision was made at a regular council meeting on Monday Nov. 27. The plan is to turn the summit centre into a rehabilitation centre. CAO Denise Corry discusses what this means and next steps. The Town of Huntsville will be looking for public input. 

Known for putting on big productions every two years, Huntsville High School is back at it again this year with Rock of Ages, which will be performed at the Algonquin Theatre. The Gravenhurst Rotary Club in Partnership with YourTV hosted the Annual Rotary TV Auction on Nov 29th raising thousands of dollars to support various projects in the community.

The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation is looking to raise $275,000 by the end of December in order to keep the Men's Shelter open. There are different ways to donate. For more information you can go to The Table's website or call Heather Berg at 705-783-5827. 

The Rotary Club of Huntsville in partnership with YourTV hosted the annual Rotary TV Auction on Nov. 19. This year they raised over $30,000. 

Gravenhurst Fire Department kicked off their 2nd Annual Toy Drive at Canadian Tire over the weekend.
