The public is invited to an “Open House” to learn about Niagara search and rescue (SAR) operations, meet SAR volunteers, and experience the challenges of aviation and marine based SAR. Focus this year is on water safety.  The Civil Air Search And Rescue Association (CASARA) of Niagara will host an open house at the Niagara District Airport on Saturday, April 27, 2024, to give the public the opportunity to see the sophisticated equipment used in search and rescue operations, examine aircraft and even win a chance for a familiarization flight over St. Catharines in the group’s Cessna 182 Skylane aircraft (weather permitting).  The focus of this year’s event is water safety, and the volunteers of South Shore Search And Rescue will be on hand to illustrate the group’s safety equipment, distribute boating safety gear and conduct a competition that simulates a real rescue. Kids of all ages will also have the opportunity to have their photos taken with “JJ”, the group’s rescue dummy.

Join Friends Over 55 Recreation Centre on Saturday, May 4 from 9 am to 1 pm for our annual Flea Market at 554 Fielden Avenue, Port Colborne. Vendors inside & out, selling a variety of household items, crafts, jewelry, Scentsy, comic book collectibles, tools and so much more. BBQ starts around 11 am, burgers, hotdogs, sausage & much more. Find a unique gift for mom, Mother's Day isn't far away. 

Niagara Peninsula Miata Club will be displaying some of our members' cars at St. Catharines Mazda at 161 Scott St. in St. Catharines on Saturday, May 4 from 10am to 2pm.  There will be a BBQ for those attending with all voluntary donations going to Hospice Niagara.
