Windsor Veterans Memorial Services Committee in partnership with the Korean Society of Windsor invites our community to attend its annual family-centered Korean War Veterans Memorial service commemorating the memory of fallen Canadian Veterans of the Korean War.
The outbreak of the Korean War was the result of North Korean forces invading South Korea 25 June 1950. 26,971 Canadians fought in the Korean War (1950-53), 7,000 Canadians served during UN Peacekeeping mission (1953-55); 1,158 Canadians were wounded, 21 were missing in action, 32 were held PoW and 516 Canadians fell in battle.
Windsor-Essex County Korean War Veterans will once again “present the salute” and lay a wreath in honour of all their fallen comrades who “stood at the ready” and served with pride and purpose
