Burlington North – Milton West MP Adam Van Koevedern was appointed Canada's Secretary of sport in 2025... a very appropriate position for the multi-time olympian.  And with this being a year of the winter olympics, Adam has declared 2026 Canada's year of sport, and it all begins with the presense of FIFA coming to the country.

In Oakville, a crowd of thrill-seekers started off the new years with a splash at the 41st annual 'courage polar bear' dip. Reporter Craig McNicoll was there to witness the frozen fun.
